Organizing Essentials for Every Child's Room

If you'd like your child to be more organized, help them out by making sure that they have the essentials for getting organized. Here is my "Great Solutions: A Child's Room Checklist" from my book "Growing-Up Organized: A Mom-to-Mom Guide." (Amazon.com,$14)

Shelves for books

Bins of different sizes for different sized toys

Shelves for board games

Low rod in closet for young children

Shoe holder for shoes

Labels on drawers- uses pictures for non-readers

Lots of coat hooks for jackets, robes, sports equipment, book bags and costumes for playing dress-up

Bulletin boards- bigger the better! Two or three in a tight row is great unless you love having them tape or tack to the wall!

File crate or small file cabinet for storing school papers

Hamper or hanging mesh laundry bag or laundry basket
